• A policy of armed neutrality.

• Highly skilled defence capabilities on land, at sea and in the air.

• Withdrawing from international organisations when membership of them reduces our independence of action and is against New Zealand’s national interests.

• Returning the RNZAF Air Combat Force, the return of a combat-capable multi frigate blue-water navy, and the upsizing of the Army to full brigade strength.

• The protection of New Zealand’s Nuclear Free and Exclusive Economic Zones, as a primary task of a Maritime Defence Force.

• A National Defence Force whose primary task will be to protect and defend New Zealand’s on shore territory against internal and external violation.

• Technical training, civil defense training and public works programmes, as secondary tasks of the National Defence Force.

• Resourcing Defence forces fully and from within New Zealand where possible.

• Civil defence training in secondary schools.

• Resources to provide a wide availability of skills in dealing with any emergency or disaster.
