• The protection of New Zealand’s Nuclear Free and Exclusive Economic Zones, as a primary task of a Maritime Defence Force.
• A National Defence Force whose primary task will be to protect and defend New Zealand’s on shore territory against internal and external violation.
• Technical training, civil defense training and public works programmes, as secondary tasks of the National Defence Force.
• Resourcing Defence forces fully and from within New Zealand where possible.
• Civil defence training in secondary schools.
• Resources to provide a wide availability of skills in dealing with any emergency or disaster.
